Stephen is the CEO of the Protective Group and a Senior Partner in International Student care. A passionate advocate of domestic violence and considered a leading expert in risk management around the safety of victims. Working closely with the Salvation Army, Government, Police and other Not for Profits Stephen is well regarded and a keynote speaker at many events and conferences.
Stephen has a combined 37 years of experience working in law enforcement, security, investigations and the hospitality industry. Whilst serving with the Victoria Police he worked within the National Crime Authority, Drug Squad, Licensing, Gaming and Vice Branch, and as a Criminal Investigator.
He is recognized as Australia’s “First long term Undercover Police Operative” being awarded the prestigious Victoria Police Chief Commissioners Award. Holding qualifications in Security, Investigations, Risk Management and Corrections.
Stephen is passionate about the protection of people and not just property. This is his area of expertise and the value that he can add to the safety, security and welfare of family violence victim/survivors, international students and people in crisis.

Mark has a combined 35 years of experience working in the law enforcement and security industry. Whilst serving with the Victoria Police he worked in both uniform general duties and specialized in surveillance and covert investigations working with the Bureau Criminal Investigation Drug Squad Surveillance Unit & the Crime Departments Surveillance Unit. During his covert operations Mark also worked with both State and Federal covert operatives and Agencies.
Mark also spent time in the field of diplomatic close personal protection which included conducting risk and threat assessments for visiting international dignitaries. Mark was also recognised for his bravery and courage on two separate occasions when he was awarded with a Royale Humane Society Commendation for Brave Conduct and the Queens Commendation for Brave Conduct.
After leaving the Victoria Police Force in 2002, Mark has dedicated his time and experience by managing risk for International students and survivors of family violence.

Steven has a combined 35 years of experience working in the law enforcement, security industry and family violence sector. Whilst serving with the Victoria Police Force he performed duties with the Homicide Squad, Armed Robbery Squad and the Bureau of Criminal Intelligence. Amongst many other courses he has completed the internationally recognized FBI Advanced Covert Training Course. He is an experienced and decorated investigator responsible for complex and serious crime investigations.
Since leaving the Victoria Police Force, Steven has continued his passion for protecting individuals by becoming a recognised expert in relation to the implementation of risk and safety management strategies within the Family Violence Sector.
Steven still works closely with victims, services and Government Departments within the family violence sector and justice system. His initiatives include emergency response solutions as well as assessing and implementing safety measures around family violence victims, allowing them to remain safely in their own home and community.
In March 2014 Steve completed Advanced Domestic Violence Training conducted by the International Family Justice Alliance.

Lana has over 20 years combined experience in law enforcement, health and safety and compliance.

During her time in both the South Australia Police and Queensland Police, Lana worked in General Duties, Regional Training Command, Brisbane Tactical Crime Squad, Fortitude Valley CIB, and the Brisbane Police Dog Squad.

From there, Lana extended her tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety whilst simultaneously working as a field safety advisor in the Oil and Gas Industry. More recently, Lana engaged with Children’s Health Queensland as a Safety Business Partner. Her focus centred around the safety of community facilities for children. In addition, she was the key safety contact for child and adolescent mental health.

Lana is well renowned for her personable and hard-working approach. She has a passion for the safety of children and their families, and maintains regular contact with community groups.

Lana also enjoys providing training to corporate entities in and around Domestic Violence and Corporate Incident Management. Lana is an excellent trainer in all aspects of workplace violence, de-escalation, personal security awareness and domestic violence identification and treatments.

Lana is passionate about working with organisations to identify key strategies for safer workplaces.

Grant has over 20 years combined experience in law enforcement, Military and private security sector.
He commenced his career as a Royal Australian Navy Clearance Diver and participated in several overseas deployments. Highly skilled, he then fulfilled contracts for the US State Department in Iraq.
From there, Grant joined the Queensland Police in 2005, where he worked and instructed within a number of specialist positions. Including the Explosive Ordnance Response Team.
Grant conducted a number of extensive investigations within the Criminal Investigation Branch, involving cases which were highly political and complex in nature. As a member of the Diplomatic Close Personal Protection Team, Grant was well renowned for the protective operations he managed on Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, the Prime Minister of Australia, and Israeli and US Ambassadors.
As a senior security and crisis management advisor in the Mining and Oil and Gas industries, Grant was pivotal in developing comprehensive security and emergency management capabilities in challenging, high risk environments.
Grant is passionate about protecting people and their reputation. He understands the needs of people in crisis and is well respected within the family violence prevention sector for his professionalism and empathy when assisting survivors of family violence.
