Steve Wilson is the CEO of Protective Group and a Senior Partner of International Student Care.
Steve has 37 years of experience in law enforcement, investigations and hospitality.
During his time with Victoria Police, Steve worked with the National Crime Authority, Drug Squad, Criminal Investigations Branch, Licencing, and Gaming and Vice Branch. For his professionalism and dedication as a covert operative, he was awarded the prestigious Victoria Police Chief Commissioners Award.
Steve is a passionate advocate for the prevention of domestic violence, and has worked tirelessly to build positive working relationships with not for profit organisations. He continues to work closely with the Salvation Army, various Police jurisdictions, and other government associations. He is a leading expert in risk management and the safety of victims, and is well renowned for his keynote speaking at events and conferences. In addition, he has extensive qualifications in Security, Investigations, Risk Management and Corrections.
He leads a team of experienced investigators who are genuine, personable and hard-working. Collectively, the team is dedicated to providing more strategies and resources for the victims and survivors of criminal violence.
Mark has 35 years of experience working in both the law enforcement and security industries. While serving with the Victoria Police, he worked alongside the Bureau of Criminal Investigation Drug Squad Surveillance Unit, and the Crime Department’s Surveillance Unit. During his covert operations Mark also worked with both State and Federal covert operatives and agencies.
Mark then spent time in the field of diplomatic close personal protection which included conducting risk and threat assessments for visiting international dignitaries. On two separate occasions, Mark was recognised for bravery when he was awarded the Royal Humane Society Commendation for Brave Conduct and the Queen’s Commendation for Brave Conduct.
Since leaving the Victoria Police, Mark has dedicated his time and experience to managing risk for victims of family violence. He has also spent a considerable amount of time assisting International students and their families. Through International Student Care, Mark has been engaged by Government agencies to locate missing international students and provide a lifeline to those students who are victims of crime.
Steven has 35 years’ experience working in the law enforcement, security and family violence sectors. Whilst serving with the Victoria Police, he performed duties with the Homicide Squad, Armed Robbery Squad and the Bureau of Criminal Intelligence. He is an experienced and decorated investigator responsible for serious and complex crime investigations.
Since leaving Victoria Police, Steven has continued his passion for protecting individuals by working closely with victims, welfare agencies, the justice system and government departments. Through this work, Steven has been pivotal in the implementation of risk and safety management strategies within the family violence sector. These strategies include emergency response solutions and home security.
In March 2014, Steven completed Advanced Domestic Violence Training conducted by the International Family Justice Alliance in the United States. This valuable training provided further insight into the complex nature of Family Violence.
Lana has over 20 years combined experience in law enforcement, health, safety and compliance.
During her time in both the South Australia Police and Queensland Police, Lana worked in General Duties, Regional Training Command, Brisbane Tactical Crime Squad, Criminal Investigations Branch, and the Brisbane Police Dog Squad.
From there, Lana extended her tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety whilst simultaneously working as a field safety advisor in the Oil and Gas Industry. More recently, Lana engaged with Children’s Health Queensland as a Safety Business Partner. Her focus centred around the safety of community facilities for children. In addition, she was the key safety contact for child and adolescent mental health.
Lana is well renowned for her personable and hard-working approach. She has a passion for the safety of children and their families, and maintains regular contact with community groups.
Lana also provides training to corporate entities in and around Domestic Violence and Corporate Incident Management. She enjoys identifying key strategies for safer workplaces and is well versed in de-escalation and personal security awareness.
Grant has over 20 years combined experience in the law enforcement, military and private security sectors. He commenced his career as a Royal Australian Navy Clearance Diver and participated in several overseas deployments including fulfilling contractor roles with the US State Department in Iraq.
From there, Grant joined the Queensland Police and worked in the Explosive Ordnance Response Team, Security Intelligence Branch, and Criminal Investigations Branch. As a member of the Diplomatic Close Personal Protection Team, Grant was well renowned for the protective operations he managed on Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, the Prime Minister(s) of Australia and Israeli and US Ambassadors.
As a senior security and crisis management advisor in both the Mining and Oil and Gas industries, Grant was pivotal in developing comprehensive security and emergency management capabilities in challenging, high-risk environments.
Grant is passionate about protecting people and their reputation. He understands the needs of people in crisis, and is well respected in areas of both family violence and close personal protection.
