Disrupting technology abuse is at the core of our business. If you feel that you are being stalked or a victim of malicious spyware, hidden cameras and other forms of illegal surveillance we can assist in detecting and removing these threats.
Technology itself is not the problem- rather, it is the behaviour of the abuser who uses it. Technology is vital for keeping connected with children, family and friends as well the wider community so the best solution where there is abuse is not just to turn it all off. Technology can be used positively, enabling access to services and support when you need it.
It can also help you gather evidence of abuse if needed. It is important not to react to technology-facilitated abuse without thinking first about the implications of any changes made on the abuser’s behaviour, as removing an online presence on social media or discarding devices could alert an abuser or escalate abusive behaviour if they think their ex-partner is removing control and access.
Four out of five of our clients who are victims of Domestic or Family Violence are experiencing technology abuse with surveillance and listening devices prominent in victims homes.
Upon requesting or being referred to our service, we will make time to meet with you or your client to conduct an assessment and inspect devices, vehicles and other possessions as required. Meetings may take up to 90 minutes and can be held at our National Support Office located in Melbourne or at a location that suits your client.
Whilst meeting with you or your client we will take steps to remove any spyware, check social media settings, conduct a physical and electronic sweep for tracking, listening, transmitting and recording devices and reset passwords and security questions on the spot. We talk this through with the client to ensure they understand what steps need to be taken to keep them safe in their use of technology.
A written assessment report will be prepared with interventions recorded and recommendations made. The report includes any further actions that may be required and is forwarded to the client or referrer post appointment.
We bring years of experience, technology and research to offer a comprehensive, personalised assessment and inspection of the client’s personal and home smart devices and laptop/s. Where there are accompanying children with smart devices we strongly recommend that this is part of the assessment and we provide practical advice through experience.

Just wanted to say thank you for the help and support you and your company have done for me and my family, since you have been out to my place to help with advice on security and getting security cameras installed we are already feeling much safer, the cameras have helped with my anxiety knowing it's recording 24 hrs a day, I feel I can finally sleep at night and not look out the window constantly worried for our safety.
I cannot speak highly enough of the two representatives from the Safer in the Home program, very supportive, even after case was closed they still send me messages to check my safety.
Having the security system has changed our lives dramatically, not only do we feel safe, we no longer have to peek out windows to see if we are being watched or stalked, and are able to record and playback any previous movement. The installation crew were exceptional, ensuring every angle of the property were covered that the system was easy to use and navigate, and that recorded info could be downloaded easily and efficiently if needed as proof. The install was very tidy and clean with no damage or mess to my property. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
We strongly support the Safer in the Home program and believe it is a valuable service which greatly contributes to the ongoing safety of individuals who have experienced domestic and family violence... The feedback received from individuals who have been referred to the program is overwhelmingly positive.
The Safer in the Home program has assisted seven of my clients and their families to feel safer in their homes so that they can move forward with their lives in a positive way... I fully endorse the program which provides a thorough safety assessment of the home environment conducted by qualified and skilled assessors before upgrades are carried out. The program model has proven to be a valued resource in minimising the impact of domestic and family violence for the clients I assist in our community.
I was blown away by the amazing support I received from the Safer in the Home program. I feel safe staying in my home with my children now that the locks have been changed and broken window has been replaced.
